Chandeliers
With these chandeliers, a prestigious international fashion brand put our skills to the test with an extremely demanding artistic and constructive challenge.
It’s a challenge we accepted as a precious recognition of our capabilities, but also of something entirely new, the design and creation of monumental artwork for the famous Parisian boutique on Avenue Montaigne, an approximately seven-metre tall suspended chandelier made of thousands of coloured glass pieces that flow down from above like a enormous waterfall.
To achieve this, we involved the finest craftsmen, from the creation and production of hand-rolled Murano glass to the unprecedented engineering design. Each piece of glass is independent, suspended by invisible threads that make it seem to float in the air, giving the chandelier the appearance of a shower of multicoloured water frozen in a perfect instant.
This was a complex realization, with all the hallmarks of Benvenuto’s experimentation and research, rewarding not only for having created a unique piece of art, but also from seeing the excellence of that piece of art acknowledged by one of the truly great fashion houses. In 2014, another similar but even bigger chandelier, requiring even more complex engineering solutions, was realized to embellish the flagship store of the fashion house in London’s New Bond Street.
